Former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Farouk Khan has highlighted a few things that Nasreddine Nabihas gotten wrong this season.

The 59-year-old Tunisian tactician took over at Amakhosi in July 2024 but has struggled for consistency in terms of his play and starting lineup. After 23 league matches, Chiefs are eighth in the Betway Premiership.

Khan feels the Kaizer Chiefs coach needs to get the right balance in his squad.

“He needs to get the right balance. If I was his No.2, I would tell him; ‘coach, we need to get the right balance’,” Khan said on SoccerBeat.

“Let us not change from one week to the next with 3-4-4 or 3-5-2 like we did to a 4-2-3-1 or whatever.”

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach says the team needs one system

“Let us play with one system and make it our system. We are Chiefs, let us impose our mentality.

“I do not think Chiefs is imposing themselves. This is what I would say to Nabi as his No.2. That; ‘listen coach, we need to impose and bring back the glory that will make teams respect us.’

“I promise you now after three wins, Chiefs will have the confidence and can be Chiefs,” Khan added.

Nabi could still be the first Kaizer Chiefs coach to win a trophy in 10 years. His side are in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals and are two wins away from ending their drought.

Is Nabi the right man?
