Renowned South African actress and TV personality Vele Manenje recently celebrated the life of her late fellow actor Mpho Sebeng.
The entertainment industry and those who knew him were profoundly impacted by the sad passing of Mpho, who was well-known for his roles in several South African TV series.
These tributes are important as they keep the memories alive and appreciate each individual’s body of work. Vele resonates with this and remembers Mpho as one of South Africa’s best actors, who is cemented by his contributions to television.
Taking to her Instagram account, she simply wrote, “Super proud of you Mpho Sebeng.” In one of the frames in the post, she hands the golden horn to a picture of Mpho as one would do at award ceremonies.
According to the YouthVillage,“Mpho is definitely one of those personalities, who continues to make waves even after their passing. On the 6th of June, 016FM, a drama series he stars in premiered. He was cast as DJ Whiskey in the drama series that follows two polar opposite DJs. Together with DJ Tsietsi, DJ Whiskey devises a plan to save the station from closure.”
The above publication also states that Mpho received a nomination for Best Film Actor at the 11th Simon “Mabhunu” Sabela Awards that same month. His legendary role in Ingoma was the reason for this. The show featured a teacher who shared with his students the events of his life before he achieved success, including dealing with financial difficulties, drug sales, and betrayal. Unfortunately, his nomination was withdrawn following several concerns.
