Five players that can win Kaizer Chiefs the league next season

Kaizer Chiefs have not won the league since the 2014/15 season under Stuart Baxter.

The Soweto giants came close in 2019/20 season but lost out to Mamelodi Sundowns on the last day of the season. Since then, Amakhosi have struggled in the Betway Premiership, failing to finish in the top 8 for two consecutive season.

Under Nasreddine Nabi, Amakhosi claimed the Nedbank Cup title, which was their only silverware in 10 years. With the pre-season only a few weeks away, Chiefs need to sign quality players to compete for top honours.

Can Kaizer Chiefs win the league next season?

With the current squad, Chiefs won’t get close to their fifth PSL title. Nabi needs to bring at least five top players to the team if they are to compete for big titles.

Here are five players that Kaizer Chiefs must sign to compete for the league:

Feisal Salum

The Tanzanian star can inject life into the Amakhosi’s midfield. He can score and assist which is something the club has lacked from their midfielders.

Fiston Mayele

The Congolese striker is unlikely to join the Soweto giants given his price tag and wages. He recently won the CAF Champions League with Pyramids making his a desireable option for Middle East teams. If Chiefs could sign Mayele, their goalscoring woes won’t end.

Oswin Appollis

The Polokwane City could be on his way to Naturena if all goes well. He was not in Polokwane City’s final match of the season which raised eyebrows. At 23, the speedy winger could be a long term investment for Kaizer Chiefs epecially if they are looking to win the league.

Fawaaz Basadien

The Bafana Bafana left-back has been linked to Amakhosi for almost two years. With Miguel Inacio, Rushwin Dortley and Basadien at the back, Chiefs will no doubt solve their defensive problems having leaked the third most goals last campaign.

Monnapule Saleng

Saleng won five trophies with Pirates but will he win the league if he joined Kaizer Chiefs? the attacker has been rumoured with a move to Naturena in recent weeks after getting sidelined by the Buccaneers for months.
