Fiston Mayele, Pyramids FC’s red-hot striker, has finally addressed swirling speculation linking him with a move to Kaizer Chiefs. Speaking at a media event ahead of the CAF Champions League final, Mayele confirmed that he did have a conversation with Nasreddine Nabi in December. However, he made it crystal clear that his sole focus is currently on securing victory in the historic final.
“The coach [Nabi] was in contact with me in December, but it’s not the right moment to talk about it,” Mayele told journalists, as per SABC Sport.
“I’m focusing on the final. And the rest we will see after the season.”

At 30 years old, Mayele has delivered a sensational campaign in the CAF Champions League, emerging as one of the competition’s top performers. His eight goals in 11 appearances have been instrumental in Pyramids FC’s maiden journey to the final, including a crucial brace that sent Orlando Pirates crashing out in the semi-final.
“I’m very happy to help because I always try to help the team to win. And I’m a player who tries to help the team,” Mayele said.
“I’m very happy that I was the player who scored the last goal against Orlando.”
Pyramids chase continental glory
With the CAF Champions League final just around the corner, Mayele is laser-focused on the task at hand. He’s not only chasing a personal milestone but also ready to help Pyramids FC make history by lifting their first continental trophy.
“I’m happy to play in the final, it’s the first final in the Champions League for the club and I’m ready,” he declared.
As rumours of a reunion with Nabi and a possible move to Kaizer Chiefs continue to circulate. Mayele has made his priorities clear, the final comes first.
