Kaizer Chiefs are linked with a myriad of PSL ballers.
From Oswin Appollis to Asenele Velebayi, AmaKhosi aren’t just going for established names; they’re headhunting promising stars who have the potential to be Africa’s next best thing.
Transfer rumours
- Appollis is expected to choose between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates this January transfer window – the Buccaneers are favourites to land the Bafana Bafana winger.
- Kaizer Chiefs are raising their initial R10 million offer for Cape Wineland’s midfielder Fawaaz Basadien to R13 million as they push for the player this summer.
- Rising starlet Velebayi is a top target for the Soweto Giants, who tried to land the 20-year-old during the offseason but had several offers declined – like the Basadien scenario, the Chiefs will presumably up their offer.
- Thaband Matuludi is a wanted man with Pirates and Chiefs both after the right-back services. The Polokwane City defender will likely make his decision in January.
More on the Matuludi situation
It seems to be a two-horse race in regards to landing Matuludi, however, according to the Citizen, Pirates are leading the race: “Chiefs were leading the race to sign him, and unfortunately for him, the move didn’t happen before the last transfer window closed”,
“There have been enquiries about him and I’m told Orlando Pirates are also monitoring the situation. Remember Kaizer Chiefs wanted to also get his teammate Oswin Appollis but that move also didn’t happen because the City chairman is a hard man to convince into selling.”
