Exciting Kaizer Chiefs star to MISS both Orlando Pirates clashes

Kaizer Chiefs will have to do without one of their most exciting game-breakers in upcoming clashes with Orlando Pirates.

Vilakazi to miss clashes with Orlando Pirates

Breakout Kaizer Chiefs star Mfundo ‘Obrigado’ Vilakazi is a regular in Amakhosi matchday squads. However, he will miss both meetings with Orlando Pirates. The teenage winger is part of the South African U20 side at the most inopportune time for Pirates, ruling him out of these two matches. The U20 AFCON takes place between 26 April and 18 May.

As fate would have it, Pirates and Chiefs meet twice in quick succession at the sharp end of the 2024-2205 campaign. First, they do battle in the Betway Premiership on Saturday, 03 May at 15:00. Then, they meet in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday, 10 May.

Mayele hopes to turn the screw in key Champions League action

Meanwhile, next up for the Sea Robbers is the first leg of a massive Champions League semi-final against Egyptian outfit Pyramids FC. This clash takes place at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, 19 April at 18:00. The second leg is on Friday, 25 April in Egypt. Rumoured Kaizer Chiefs target Fiston Mayele is the Pyramids FC talisman, and has 19 goals in 33 appearances in Africa’s Premier club competition.
