Ex Trump advisor wants Elon Musk’s DEPORTED

Former President Donald Trump advisor Steve Bannon is calling for Elon Musk to be deported, citing him as an “illegal alien”.

This follows the world’s richest man’s falling out with the president over new tax legislation.

Elon – who was born in Pretoria – boasts three citizenships – South Africa by birth, Canada through his maternal parentage, and the US as a naturalized citizen.

EX TRUMP ADVISOR WANTS ELON MUSK DEPORTED

Speaking to the New York Post, ex-Trump advisor Steve Bannon urged authorities to send Elon Musk packing.

He said: “They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately”.

Bannon did not reveal which country Elon should be deported to.

Late last year, former President Joe Biden also accused Elon Musk of being an “illegal alien”.

He said in a rally: “The wealthiest man in the world turned out to be an illegal worker here… He was supposed to be in school when he came on a student visa.

Biden continued: “He wasn’t in school; he was violating the law. And he’s talking about all these illegals coming our way?”

Clapping back at Biden, Elon posted on his X platform: “I was, in fact, allowed to work in the US. I was on a J-1 visa that transitioned to an H1-B. They know this, as they have all my records”.

After leaving South Africa at the age of 17, Elon Musk briefly stayed in Canada before settling down in the US.

In 2002, he became a naturalised citizen.

SOUTH AFRICANS REACT

On the X platform, South Africans were bemused at calls for Elon Musk to be deported.

X user @afrikaforafrika asked: “To where? There is a white genocide in South Africa. Let him stay in America.”

Another – @Eshtalk – jokingly added: “Elon better pack his spaceship!🚀”

WHAT DO CANDIANS SAY?

Like many South Africans, Canadians on social media were vocal with their opinions.

While some were happy to embrace the world’s richest man, others recalled Elon’s comments undermining the sovereignty of their country.

Some even reminded the world about a petition calling for Elon’s citizenship to be revoked, which was signed by hundreds of thousands of Canadians.
