The ex-girlfriend of former Elton Jantjies has responded to Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture Gayton McKenzie’s defense of the former Springbok.
The “disgraced” player has made headlines over Ashleigh Ogle’s claims that he drugged and physically abused her during their short relationship. He’s also courted controversy over doping claims and his extra-marital affair in 2022.
Ashleigh – a reality TV star and musician – has since been granted a permanent restraining order against him. Elton has denied her allegations.
GAYTON DEFENDS ELON JANTJIES AMID CRITICISM
On his Facebook account, Gayton McKenzie praised Elton Jantjies amid criticism from the public.
He posted: “I don’t care what you write. I will continue to support Elton, I am a God-fearing man, and I know God can change any life just as he changed mine.
He added: “I will never ever cancel any person because judgement belongs to God.”
In the comments section, Elton Jantjies responded: “Got your back”.

Last week, the Minister of Sport praised the former Springbok, who is now a rugby coach.
He posted: “Congratulations, I am proud of you. I can see what you do for rugby and how hard you work for the Game Changers [Elton’s company].

Elton reposted the clip on his Instagram with the caption: “A message from a true leader.”
EX SAYS HE HASN’T CHANGED
Speaking to The South African, Ashleigh Ogle responded to Gayton Mckenzie’s comments about Elton Jantjies.
The petite brunette – who is a gender-based violence activist – dated Elton for a few months in 2023. After their relationship, Ashleigh released a tell-all, alleging that Elton has physically abused her, drugged her, and even made death threats.
Despite this, she praised the Minister for his positive attitude and his work ethic in his sector.
She said, “I 100% believe in forgiveness for one’s own peace, but in my ex’s case, he has sadly not changed, and I truly hoped that after our situation, he would.

Ashleigh doubled down on her claims that she had been allegedly abused and drugged by Elton Jantjies. The celebrity boxing champion claimed that the former Springbok “was a talented sportsman” who allegedly had a drug addiction.
Referring to her permanent restraining order, she added: “But that’s all in the past; I’m on my healing journey and couldn’t be more happier that he can’t come 100m near me.”
Elton Jantjies has repeatedly declined to comment on her personal life.
