- Edward Zuma confirmed he is now a full member of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party.
- He slammed Shivambu and wrote a controversial letter attacking Jewish businesses.
Edward Muziwoxolo Zuma made his political switch public during a uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) media briefing held in eShowe.
He confirmed to Scrolla.Africa that he has left the ANC, where he had been a member of the Nkandla branch in the Musa Dladla region, which includes Nkandla, Mlalazi, Richards Bay and Melmoth.
Known for his outspoken views, Edward has often drawn attention with his controversial statements and open letters.
Just last month, he hit out at MKP secretary general Floyd Shivambu. He accused him of damaging the party’s image by visiting fugitive pastor Shepherd Bushiri in Malawi.
Weeks later, Edward penned a letter that targeted Jewish-owned businesses. In it, he claimed that these companies operate freely in the country without government interference.
According to the Jewish Report, the letter includes the line: “They are also in charge of the PIC [Public Investment Corporation] under the chairmanship of the holy Mcebisi Jonas, Gordhan’s partner in business and colleague in government… Jewish-based entities are running the show without interference from government and with the help of the government officials who have shares in the companies that get money from the PIC.”

Zev Krengel, vice-president of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies, said: “This type of rhetoric is unacceptable – and the SAJBD will be following up on it.”
Ben Swartz, national chairman of the South African Zionist Federation, believes Edward was being used by his father’s allies to spread the message — part of a wider campaign to discredit “white monopoly capital.”
