The luxurious home in the exclusive Hyde Park suburb, which gained attention after Dr Nandipha Magudumana and Thabo Bester vacated unexpectedly, remains vacant and has not attracted a new tenant.
The South Africanhas learnt that the rented multi-million rand mansion in Hyde Park is still up for rent at R70 000 a month, which is the same price Magudumana and her boyfriend Bester used to pay when they stayed there two years ago.
“The house is still vacant for rent. We are able to arrange viewing for anyone who is interested. It is still going for R70 000 a month,” an agent who spoke to this publication on condition of anonymity said.
The house is valued at an impressive R12 million rand.
The mansion became widely known in April 2023 after it was revealed that Thabo Bester, who was thought to have died in a prison fire, had escaped and was hiding out at the mansion with Dr Nandipha Magudumana.
WHAT R70 000 GETS YOU IN HYDE PARK
The house has undergone renovations, featuring elegant white and gold interior decor throughout.
Private Property describes the home as “a cutting-edge approach to a traditional style. From the welcoming front porch, one is drawn to the elegant reception rooms, enhanced by vaulted ceilings and French provincial twist, whilst the windows allow light to pour in from all angles.”
“It offers five bedrooms suites, study plus a well-appointed home office, fully airconditioned his and her walk-in dressing rooms, modern bathroom, outdoor shower, and private courtyard.”
LEFT WITHOUT A NOTICE
The couple allegedly fled the mansion hastily to evade arrest after the story broke in 2023. They were eventually captured in Tanzania and are currently standing trial at the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on charges including murder, fraud, and corruption.
The duo, along with seven other people including Magudumana’s father Zolile Sekeleni are expected to start trial on charges relating to murder, fraud, corruption and violation of a dead body.
