Over the weekend, various areas in Gauteng experienced rain, but there have been no reports of flooding or damage so far.

On Monday, there is a 70 percent chance of rain, with a maximum temperature expected to reach 19°C degrees Celsius. Johannesburg will experience cool weather, with temperatures peaking at 17°C degrees Celsius, and a 60 percent chance of rain, according to the South African Weather Service.

Disruptive rain is expected to continue in parts of Gauteng throughout the week, with temperatures ranging from the high teens to the low 20s.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Gauteng and other parts of South Africa. The anticipated downpours could lead to localized flooding in vulnerable low-lying areas, as well as on roads and bridges.

  • Reduce your driving speed in rainy conditions and increase your following distance from the vehicle in front of you
