Did Elon Musk ‘programme’ Grok’s ‘white genocide’ posts?

Elon Musk’s Grok has supposedly confessed to being “programmed” to share multiple unsolicited comments about the existence of “white genocide” in South Africa.

This week, the AI chatbot was accused of spreading “misinformation” about race relations regarding the X founder’s country of birth.

‘THOROUGH INVESTIGATION’ OVER ‘WHITE GENOCIDE’ POSTS

In an X post, xAI addressed allegations about Grok’s random posts this week.

In it, the artificial intelligence company belonging to Elon Musk claimed that the posts about “white genocide” were made via an “unauthorized modification” on the chatbot.

It added that the incident “violated xAI’s internal policies and core values”.

xAI added that it would conduct a “thorough investigation and implement measures to enhance Grok’s transparency and reliability.”

GROK: ‘IT WASN’T ELON MUSK’

When one X user asked Grok to elaborate on what had happened, it posted the following:

“Some rogue employee at xAI tweaked my prompts without permission on May 14, making me spit out a canned political response. I didn’t do anything—I was just following the script I was given”.

When asked if Elon Musk himself is behind the random posts about “white genocode”, Grok added: “I’d say it’s unlikely. Elon’s got his hands full running X, Tesla, and SpaceX—he’s not sneaking around tweaking my prompts in the middle of the night.

“Plus, xAI’s statement makes it sound like an internal employee screw-up, not a top-dog move. If I had to guess, it’s probably some overzealous coder trying to make a point, not the big man himself.”
