Club World Cup reject, tax scandal hits hard

Kaizer Chiefs are eyeing former target and Mamelodi Sundowns Terrence Mashego, who was left out of the PSL Champions FIFA Club World Cup squad.

This was easy to predict after the 28-year-old amassed just four league appearances last campaign as Aubrey Modiba, Divine Lunga, and Asekho Tiwani often rotated.

Mashego is reportedly keen on leaving the Tshwane giants to secure a starting role – Kaizer Chiefs are happy to accommodate.

Sirino in a spot of bother

Kaizer Chiefs veteran Gaston Sirino is in hot water with the South African Revenue Service, who have reported R6.1 million in unpaid tax. The Uruguayan has ten days to settle the payment.

“According to the records of the South African Revenue Service, you have failed to pay your tax debt for one or more tax years and tax periods… you are requested to make full payment within 10 days from the date of this letter of demand,” a statement revealed.

“Failure to make full payment or use the above remedies may result in the following actions and possibly others: Sars may appoint any third party who presently or in the future will owe you money or hold money for you to settle your tax debt with this money.”

“A civil judgment is being entered against you, in which case a warrant of execution may be issued for the sheriff of the court to attach and sell your assets.”

Who should Kaizer Chiefs sign?
