Miss Universe runner-up – and former Miss South Africa finalist Chidimma Adetshina – has laughed off pending criminal charges against her of fraud and identity theft.
The Cape Town-born model – whose father is Nigerian – is the target of a Home Affairs investigation. This comes over allegations that her Mozambican mother, Anabela Rungo, unlawfully registered her as a South African at birth via fraudulent documents.
Both Chidimma and her mother – who was arrested and released on bail in February – have had their SA ID and passports revoked.
CHIDIMMA JOKES ABOUT STEALING IDS AMID INVESTIGATION
On her TikTok account, Chidimma Adetshina has continued to clap back those who have mocked her Home Affairs controversy.
In it, the 23-year-old posted a message that read: “God is preparing a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”
In the comments section, the Miss Universe Nigeria, who was later crowned Miss Universe runner-up, fought off many South African critics.
When one follower asked her: “Which passport are you using?” Chidimma clapped back: “Maybe your moms? I can’t even keep up”. Another told fellow South Africans to “hide your IDS,” to which the beauty queen responded” “Including yours, sweetheart.”
To another who questioned her “identity crisis,” she responded: “Voetsek!”
In another TikTok, Chidimma laughed off claims that her father was a Nigerian druglord and that her mother allegedly stole the identity of a South African baby when registering her birth.
“You still failed to bring the girl to us…show us this imaginary girl! I’m still waiting…it’s been a year”, she clapped back.
WHO ARE HER PARENTS?
According to reports, Chidimma’s parents, Nigerian Michael Adetshina and Mozambican Anabelo Rungo, met in Johannesburg in the late ’90s and lived in Pimville with her maternal family.
The model spent her early years in Soweto and later moved to Cape Town.
After quitting the Miss SA pageant in August 2024, Chidimma entered the Miss Nigeria competition a few weeks later, which she won. In December, she was crowned Miss Universe runner-up.
