The achievement clearly emphasises the city’s increasing appeal to both domestic and international visitors. The surge in international passenger numbers is particularly noteworthy, reflecting the growing demand for travel to Cape Town.
Looking ahead
Vos stated that they are eagerly waiting to hear from Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) about their plans to upgrade the airport.
He emphasised the need for upgrades to the airport infrastructure to accommodate the increasing number of aircraft operations and passengers. The upgrades are crucial to ensure the airport maintains its world-class standards.
Vos expressed his commitment to continued collaboration with airlines and partners through the ‘Choose Cape Town’ campaigns to expand connectivity and showcase the city’s immense value. By working together with Air Access and Cape Town Tourism, the City aims to create more opportunities for growth and development.
‘Cape Town is not just a destination, it’s a global hub of opportunity. Together with our partners at Air Access and Cape Town Tourism, I look forward to building on this success and continuing to create opportunities for all,’ said Vos.
