There is something undeniably special about how music can move you with its storytelling, the kind of sound that draws you in and makes you feel every beat, rather than just filling the room.
Where it is like entering a universe where melodies convey emotion and rhythm tells a story when you listen to music. I happen to be describing one of my favourite South African artists whose inventiveness is apparent in the way he creates his sound, Patrick Dumisani Mahlangu, popularly known as Caiiro.
Speaking to TshisaLive, he revealed that he took up music as a hobby and was pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics at the University of Pretoria. His interest developed into something truly unique was time for him to start focusing on the music.
Caiiro further tells the publication that the journey was quite difficult. When it started, he lived in Mpumalanga, and there aren’t many places there for artists to get their names out there. He got his name out there thanks to social media.
The Ndisize hitmaker is influenced by his fellow peers in the industry. He is also motivated by concentrating on improving. His craft originates from hip-hop and classic R&B which he finds inspiring, according to the news entertainment publication mentioned above.
“I think I focus on two types of sounds. There’s the spiritual element that comes through the long style of Afro-house songs that will take you on a journey. Second, there’s an uptempo vibe that gets people dancing,” he further added.
