Controversial businessman and director of Blackhead, Edwin Sodi is set to launch a new nightclub in Cape Town.
According to news publication TimesLIVE, in 2023 the businessman bought a popular nightclub formerly known as Taboo and has now expanded his business from Sandton to Cape Town.
Since buying these nightclubs Edwin has become the major shareholder and will launch the Cape Town branch later this month.
Speaking to the news publication on the upcoming launch, a source added, “The last three months he has been giving out hints on his status and you could not pick it up. Cape Town nightlife will never be the same again. Edwin knows the business inside out. The Sandton LIV is a success and the Cape Town one there is no doubt about it. We are going to party hard this summer. My bags are ready for the launch.”
Despite venturing into the nightclub business, entertainment publication ZiMoja states that earlier this year, the businessman was also allegedly involved in an R255 million contract fraud case alongside Ace Magashule, Moroadi Cholota, Sello Radebe, Kgotso Manyeki, Mahlomola Matlakala, Nthimotse Mokhesi, just to name a few, adding that the pending trial would be heard in 2025.
