Calabash South Africa comes to Cape Town

Calabash South Africa will be bringing together the biggest artists from across the globe to perform in Cape Town over the next two days.

According to the City of Cape Town, DHL Stadium is the place to be on 22 and 23 January 2025, as big names like Greenday and Robbie Williams take to the stage.

Robbie Williams will kick off day one as the headline act, joined by the likes of GoodLuck, Matthew Mole, and Lee Cole.

On day two American band, Greenday will be performing for the very first time in South Africa. Known for their chart-topping hits like “21 Guns” and “American Idiot”, festival-goers are in for a treat.

He will also be joined by The Offspring and Fokofpolisiekar.

Road closures and parking

Alderman JP Smith, the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security said that a few roads surrounding DHL Stadium would be closed for the event.

“To ensure the safety of pedestrians and concert-goers, a few roads surrounding DHL Stadium will be closed. The City urges motorists to plan their routes in advance or to steer clear of affected areas that will be closed or congested on event day. We look forward to welcoming everyone to this historic rock n’ roll event, ensuring a safe and memorable experience for all,” Andrews said.

From 06:00 until 00:00 on both 22 and 23 January, the following roads will be closed:

  • Fritz Sonnenberg Road (between Beach Road / Bay Road and Granger Bay Boulevard)
  • Vlei Road (between Helen Suzman Boulevard and Fritz Sonnenberg Road)

The City of Cape Town also said that parking bays at the Civic Centre will open for ticketed concert-goers on a first-come, first-served basis. The parking areas are accessible from Hertzog Boulevard incoming and on Civic Road.

There will also be a free bus ride for Calabash South Africa ticket holders from the Civic Centre and Thibault Square to DHL Stadium on the dates of the festival.

Tickets for Calabash are still available on Ticketmaster.
