Are Bengal cats good swimmers?
Yes, Bengal cats are known to be good swimmers!
Unlike many other domestic cat breeds that tend to avoid water, Bengals often enjoy it. This trait likely comes from their ancestry, as they are a hybrid breed with Asian Leopard Cats in their lineage. These wild cats are known to swim and fish in their natural habitat.
While not all Bengals will automatically be Olympic-level swimmers, many of them will naturally take to the water and enjoy a good splash. Some may even join you in the shower or try to “fish” in your bathtub!
If you have a Bengal and are interested in exploring their swimming abilities, it’s always a good idea to introduce them to water gradually and under supervision to ensure their safety and comfort.
Stay healthy and keep those furry friends happy!
