An Afrikaner couple has appealed to US President Donald Trump to come to their aid desperately under his offer of refugee status.

In a viral video, the farming couple stated that they live in fear of being attacked.

The video comes weeks after Trump issued an Executive Order prioritising the “resettlement” of white South Africans.Trump has accused SA President Cyril Ramaphosa of promoting “racial discrimination” and “confiscating land.” Ramaphosa has dismissed the claims as “misinformation.”

SOUTH AFRICAN COUPLE MAKE PLEA TO PRESIDENT TRUMP

In a TikTok, Afrikaner farmer Armand Cilliers and his wife Vilanie spoke directly to US President Donald Trump.

Vilanie said: “We are addressing you as South African refugees seeking your assistance and intervention. The situation in South Africa has become increasingly dire as we fear for our safety and the safety of our family.

The Afrikaner woman went on to state that her husband was a former K9 police officer who had regularly been exposed to violent attacks. Vilanie claimed that she had experienced three farm attacks of which she “miraculously survived.”

She claimed that the violence in South Africa was “not random or incidental, but often targeted.” She also claimed that their environment was “unliveable due to racial discrimination” and “systematic injustice”.

The woman said: “Farm attacks have become a grim and frequent occurrence, particularly those residing in rural areas.

“This is not living or merely existing. This is a targeted rat race in a maze to keep us hostage and trapped, with the only outcome being gathered and killed. It is not a question of if we die; it is a question of when”.

Like many Afrikaners, the couple added that they hoped to be considered for President Trump’s refugee status programme.

“We long for the American dream we hear about. We want to be contributing citizens to a country that puts God and family first. Our family shares your vision.”

‘AFRIKANER ACT’ INTRODUCED

Meanwhile, US Congressman Troy Nehls has proposed the “Afrikaner” Act to the US legislature, which will give white South Africans Priority-2 refugee status under President Trump’s Executive Order.

The new Asylum for Farmers and Refugees in Crisis and Necessary Emigration Resettlement (Afrikaner) Act is applicable to “Afrikaner ethnic minority group that have suffered persecution, or have a well-founded fear of persecution, on account of their race, ethnicity, or ancestry”.

Nehls said in a statement: “The Afrikaner population in South Africa has been experiencing unjust racial discrimination, and the situation continues to get worse by the day.

“President Trump is right. How Afrikaners are being treated is a massive human rights violation.

“My bill will offer Afrikaners a pathway to the United States to flee the persecution they’ve lived through initiated by their own government.”
