The SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League match between Sunrise FC and Mohlabile United was abandoned after a penalty decision was given to the home team at the Moses Monanyane Stadium
On Friday afternoon. Mohlabile United decided to leave the pitch in the 43rd minute of the showdown, with the scoreline remaining 1-1 following a penalty awarded to Sunrise.
Sunrise, guided by ex-Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns defender Punch Masenamela, has not suffered a defeat since the beginning of the new season, achieving four straight wins.
The matter is currently under review and resolution by SAFA Limpopo as per the league’s regulations.
Meanwhile, in the Gauteng province, Jomo Cosmos climbed to second place in the standings after their 2-0 victory against Wits University on the road on Saturday afternoon.
Cosmos have gathered 14 points from six matches in the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League. They trail the log leaders Highlands Park by two points.
