Orlando Pirates have yet again beaten Kaizer Chiefs to a prized player. This time it’s Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis.
Both clubs tried to sign the 23-year-old in January and last offseason but were met with rejection on both occasions as Appollis continued to prove himself as one of South Africa’s best.
The second half of last season saw a decline in performance, and it is perhaps because of this why Rise and Shine were willing to let their main man go.
New target confirmed
According to reports, Orlando Pirates eyeing JS Kabylie midfielder Sadio Kanoute.
“According to Africafoot, the Soweto giants are considering tabling an offer in the region of €500,000 (approximately R10 million) to lure Kanoute, who previously turned out for Simba SC in Tanzania,” a SoccerLaduma report revealed.
In other news, there is growing concern that Orlando Pirates may see their golden boy Relebohile Mofokeng leave this winter.
“My biggest wish is to see Rele overseas in 2025/2026. I’m praying every day. I don’t want to see him in the Betway Premiership again this season. I know God will answer my prayers,” Sechaba said
“[Whether it’s in] Spain, England, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Switzerland — Rele can play. I believe that with all my heart. Take him to Barcelona? He can play. PSG? He can play. Any country. I’ll be happy — but not Saudi Arabia,” he added.
“Not yet. He’s still young. He needs to compete in UEFA competitions. If he goes to Saudi now, he won’t experience that. Yes, he’d be rich — but happiness is more important. You can have all the money in the world, but if you’re not happy, it’s worthless.”
