Betway Premiership supremos Mamelodi Sundowns will bag the club’s biggest ever paycheque, thanks to the FIFA Club World Cup adventures in the USA.
The club known as Kabo Yellow did not make it out of the group stages. Sundowns defeated South Korea giants Ulsan HD 1-0 in the first game in Orlando. The second outing in Cincinnati was a famous 4-3 loss to German titans Borussia Dortmund, before a goalless draw to Brazil’s Fluminense in Miami.
Sundowns’ four goals at the tournament were delivered by Iqraam Rayners (two), Lucas Ribeiro and Lebogang Mothiba.
