K.O ends SR series
K.O has officially drawn the curtain on a defining chapter of South African hip-hop.
The rapper recently confirmed that his acclaimed “Skhanda Republic” series has come to an end, and fans may need to adjust to a future without a fourth instalment.
Responding to a fan who asked if the release of Phara City meant there would be no Skhanda Republic 4, the rap veteran gave a clear and heartfelt reply.
“SR series is done. If Phara City ends up being my last album, I won’t be mad at that.”

The Skhanda Republic trilogy, launched in 2014 and concluded with SR3 in 2022, wasn’t just a collection of albums. It was a cultural movement.
K.O carved out an entirely new sound with the “Skhanda” wave, blending street-smart lyricism with township flair.
Each album served as a soundtrack to the evolution of not just his career but an entire era in SA music.
With Phara City, K.O seems ready to move on from the legacy that helped shape his identity as one of the country’s most influential artists.
Whether this album is truly his last or simply a new beginning remains to be seen. But one thing is certain, the Skhanda Republic may be over, but its impact is far from forgotten.
