Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton are thrilled to announce they are expecting their second child.
The couple shared this joyous news exclusively with Vogue on 7 June, accompanied by a stunning maternity photoshoot.
TOM HIDDLESTON’S GROWING FAMILY
The announcement came just before the UK premiere of Tom’s latest film, The Life of Chuck, held at the SXSW festival in London, according to People.
Zawe proudly displayed her growing bump on the red carpet, wearing the elegant Emilia Wickstead gown paired with a matching cape.
Tom complemented her look in a sharp grey suit. Zawe expressed her gratitude for the support she received during this “sensitive red carpet dressing moment,”.
“I feel really lucky to be working with someone that I know and who’s been such a champion of me at this sensitive red carpet dressing moment.
I feel like I’ll be very held on an evening, whereas as an expectant mother you can feel a little bit exposed”.
TOM HIDDLESTON AND ZAWE’S LOVE STORY
The couple’s love story began in 2019 when they met while starring in the West End production of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal. They later reprised their roles on Broadway.
Their relationship blossomed quietly until they announced their engagement in 2022.
That same year, they welcomed their first child in October, although they have kept the baby’s name and gender private.
FASHIONABLE MATERNITY WEAR
Zawe shared fond memories of her friendship with Emilia Wickstead. “We met years ago at the British Fashion Awards when she dressed me, and we attended together.
It was the most fabulous night and instantly felt like kindred spirits. We aligned so much on fashion and womanhood, and I’ve always loved her designs.
They embody a seamless blend of classic and contemporary, and she’s also just an incredible craftsperson.
You feel the level of detail that goes into every piece when you wear them”. Emilia herself described dressing Zawe for the maternity shoot as a “full-circle moment.”
She remembered how Zawe had worn one of her gowns during her previous pregnancy, keeping the news under wraps at the time.
