After going viral for fighting with a learner in 2024, Glenvista High School Afrikaans teacher Mr Tshabalala has been outed by a frustrated parent for allegedly sexually assaulting her 14-year-old daughter, who is a student at the school.

Not too long after seven year-old CweCwe’s story took the country by storm, we have another day where a frustrated and helpless parent has sought the public and social media to share the tragic story of their children’s assault on school premises.

Lesedi took to her TikTokpage to appeal to anyone who would listen, to reveal that her daughter, who has a troubled past and history of bad behaviour, had been sexually assaulted by her Grade 9 teacher Mr Tshabalala. According to Lesedi, her daughter, who had embarked on a journey to rebrand and move away from being a disruptive child, to a more straight path, was subjected to Mr Tshabalala rubbing his genitals across her cheek, who also allegedly made threatening remarks towards the learner.

The distraught mother returned to voice frustration that despite a pending investigation by the school and the police, Mr Tshabalala was allowed back into school and resumed his duties. She went on to condemn the school for the way that they have chosen to deal with this matter, as they have opted to protect the alleged perpetrator over the victim.

This story has gained plenty of traction, and has seen former leaners of the school coming out with their own stories of similar occurrences happening to them. These former learners also reveal that similarly to Lesedi’s daughter, their stories were also swept under the rug, leading to the perpetrators not facing the consequences of their actions.

“I had to remove my daughter from Glenvista High School purely because of the bullying and principal at the time,” one TikTokuser said.
