Amapiano sensation Kelvin Momo has been entangled in a legal dispute involving Australian promoter Ace Events after the superstar failed to pitch for his scheduled performance despite receiving an approximate R2.8 million deposit.
Kelvin Momo is currently one of the biggest South African superstars, as he has found his niche sound that resonates not only with South Africans but music lovers across the globe. His hard work and consistency have placed him at the top of many people’s lists as their favourite artists, and he has become a global household name.
This overwhelming popularity has led to a great demand for his shows and performances, making him one of the most fully booked artists. However, the conversation regarding amapiano artists’ management seems to apply to the Fool Me hit maker, as he has garnered a reputation for overbooking himself and failing to pitch for some of his performances, and recently went viral for failing to pitch for a show in Zambia, after he got stuck in a different event in Limpopo.

This time, it appears that his antics will not go without consequence, as according to Sunday World, the Australian firm has filed a motion to liquidate Kelvin Momo Productions with the Johannesburg High Court, after the company failed to refund and pay approximately R2.8 million in damages to them.
Unfortunately, Ace Events was forced to cancel both the Melbourne and Perth shows and refund the frustrated patrons, some of whom had come to these two cities to see the award-winning artist, as a direct response to his failure to pitch.

As Kelvin is expected to perform at the highly anticipated Redbull Symphonic this coming June, fans and attendees cannot help but wonder whether or not he will show up, or if the brand will still opt to go through with the event, in light of recent developments. Others, on the other hand, believe that this ordeal will fuel the musician to work even harder, as he is working towards paying off this substantial debt.
