Jose Riveiro’s departure will be a tough pill to swallow for Orlando Pirates fans, who have enjoyed three illustrious seasons under his command, winning the MTN8 Cup on each occasion.

The Spanish tactician can secure three successive cup doubles when they face Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup final on May 10.

With his exit confirmed, foreign suitors have wasted no time trying to get their hands on the serial winner, including Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

“Al Ahly has put a mouth-watering offer for Jose Riveiro,” an inside source revealed. “The coach could be tempted to move to Egypt next season. The deal is highly possible.”

Other clubs reportedly intresdted are rivals Zamalek FC and Moroccan powerhouses Wydad Athletic.

Signing inbound?

News of Riveiro’s departure hasn’t slowed Orlando Pirates’ transfer business with the club recently tabling a three-year for Gallants maestro Masindi Nemtajela, who was instrumental in their victory over Kaizer Chiefs last weekend.

“It’s believed that now the club has offered him a three-year deal,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“They are looking at improving the squad mainly in the midfield because they will be apparently looking at releasing some of the current midfielders, so Masindi is one of those players hence the three-year contract they have offered him.”
