Kaizer Chiefs are sure to announce at least one new striker ahead of the start of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season. The number one target is known.
FISTON MAYELE FOR KAIZER CHIEFS
Former SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt recently chatted with Soccerbeat, one of the leading local football podcasts. The former Amakhosi tactician was simply asked if the 30-year-old Pyramids FC striker Mayele is what Kaizer Chiefs need? The former Young Africans attacker is currently on 15 goals and two assists in 35 games for the Egytian side.
“I think Fiston Mayele could be a 30-goal striker in the PSL. He’s not involved in all the touches on the pitch, he just plays in the box,” Huntsaid on the show, as quoted by iDiski Times.
“So, if you give him the service, he will score goals on his own by his movements, strength, and power. He’s very good at hitting the target; that’s why I think he’s a 30-goal striker.
“He’s 30 years of age, but there are teams in the PSL that don’t look for a long-term solution but a short-term solution. With the goals Mayele can score, Kaizer Chiefs will win the treble.”
