Orlando Pirates captain Tapelo Xoki is going to play his football for the Sea Robbers for a couple of further years.
TAPELO XOKI SIGNING NEW CONTRACT
Since moving from AmaZulu in July 2022, where he previously captained the team, Xoki has been a consistent presence in the defence. His leadership qualities and experience have been instrumental in marshalling the backline. Notably, he led Orlando Pirates to three MTN8 and two Nedbank Cup titles.
According to Soccer Laduma, the new deal offer will be signed before the start of the 2025/26 season in August. “For Xoki, the new two-year deal is as good as done,” an insider told the outlet. “Yes, talks have been going on for sometime now but apparently it’s all over now as the concerned parties are believed to have agreed to that new deal which will run until June 2027 as things stand at the moment,” the source added.
In the meantime, the Sea Robbers are facing a crunch week. Wednesday is a meeting with Sekhukhune United in Soweto, before a trip to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
