American socialite Kim Kardashian is rumoured to play the iconic and award-winning singer Whitney Houstonin the remake of ‘The Bodyguard.’

While Kardashian has gained notoriety as a reality star, she is not known for her acting skills, much less her singing talent. She has appeared in a few films but has not made a significant impact as an actress.

In 2011, Kim Kardashian released her debut single, “Jam (Turn It Up),” which was widely criticised by reviewers, being described as ‘a lacklustre piece of generic dance music’.

According to the Daily Mail, producers of ‘The Bodyguard’ remake are considering Kardashian for the role of Rachel Marron.

“Everyone assumed Taylor would take over the role originally played by Whitney Houston because The Bodyguard is being directed by Sam Wrench, who directed Taylor’s 2023 tour film ‘Eras,’” a source told the Daily Mail.

“But Warner Bros. is very interested in Kim. They’ve already had a few meetings and the script is written for her. Kim is one of the most famous people on the planet. She would be perfect for The Bodyguard and she knows it. Everyone is very excited,” the source added.

The Bodyguard is one of the most successful films of the 90s, having grossed 400 million euros. The soundtrack of the film, which features Whitney Houston, sold over 50 million copies. It remains to be seen if the directors would indeed bring in Kim Kardashian to play Houston’s role in the remake.
