Tyla’s Coachella outfit has sparked comparisons with Britney Spears. The singer stepped out in a green bra, denim micro shorts, and a body chain at Coachella but this combo quickly reminded people of Britney Spears’ 2001 MTV VMAs denim moment.
The copycat talk rolled in fast as fans accused Tyla of mimicking Britney’s look but the Water hitmaker wasn’t having it and clapped back on X: “Love her but I just thought the outfit was fly … no inspo.” When people kept pushing, she responded with: “Personally I think you should stfu.”

The reactionsare split. Some are holding on to Britney’s original look as an untouchable standard and claim that Tyla “missed” because she borrowed too heavily without acknowledging the original. Tigers(Tyla fan base) are pushing back and are saying Tyla brought fresh energy to the Y2K vibe and elevated the entire look. While some fans insist it was a tribute, others argue it wasn’t that deep, just a bold, stylish fit for a big stage moment that just so happened to look like Britney’s. The fan wars have not stopped over who owns the look.
