A search is ongoing for four lions that are believed to have escaped from Kruger National Park.
The lions escaped on Sunday, and communities around Bushbuckridge and Hazyview have reported sightings of the animals.
The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) has continued the search throughout the Easter Weekend. “Our team is actively searching for the lions. Today, we are using dogs in our efforts. We are confident that we will locate the lions if they are still outside the park,” said MTPA spokesperson Simphiwe Shungube in an interview with The Citizen.

“The community can rest assured that we are working tirelessly to ensure the lions are located,” he added.
