A$AP Rocky, the Harlem-born rapper, designer, and now acquitted man, is riding a wave of relief. Fresh from court, he’s celebrating with friends, family, and Vogue magazine.
A$AP ROCKY’S LOVE FOR HARLEM
Vogue’s photoshoot took place in Harlem, across the street from Langston Hughes’ former home, according to Vogue.
Rocky, dressed in designer suits and dripping in jewellery, was surrounded by his vintage Louis Vuitton luggage and plant-based snacks.
His grandmother, Cathy, even joined the shoot, showcasing their close bond.”I was a grandma’s boy kind of kid,” Rocky says, “She was my best friend.”
SIMPLICITY OF LIFE
Cathy’s influence is clear. She still lives in the same apartment she’s had for 20 years, and A$AP Rocky often crashes on the full-size bed in the second bedroom.
Laundry hangs from a wooden china cabinet, a staple in many Black grandmothers’ homes. The simplicity of her life keeps him grounded, despite his success. “I’m still regular, as much as possible,” he explains.
Rocky is set to co-chair the Met Gala, an event he sees as an opportunity to celebrate Black excellence.

He acknowledges that cultural celebrations can sometimes have ulterior motives. He hopes this year’s exhibition, ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,’ will be genuine and important.
“I’m looking forward to seeing everybody celebrate Black excellence,” Rocky says.
He reflects on the Black dandies who came before him, from Louis Armstrong to Malcolm X, and sees that spirit in his sons. “It’s in them already,” he says, crediting their mother, Rihanna, for her impeccable style.
FAMILY LIFE
Throughout the interview, A$AP Rocky interacts with everyone he meets.
From Vogue editors to strangers on the street, he treats everyone with respect and warmth. He sees these interactions as an “exchange of energy” and believes in the power of genuine connection.
His relationship with Rihanna is also a testament to his loving spirit.

“Internal, external, infinite, the past, the future,” he says, describing his love for her. Cathy is also a big fan, praising Rihanna as a “down-to-earth person.”
Rocky’s journey has been one of highs and lows, but he remains grateful for his blessings.
He’s a family man, a fashion icon, and a voice for his community. As he celebrates his freedom and prepares for the Met Gala, he’s sure to continue to make an impact on the world.
