Kaizer Chiefs wonderkid Mfundo Vilakazi is trending against the backdrop of his recent Instagram.

The Kaizer Chiefs star has fast become one of the most followed PSL players and often trends whenever he posts.

KAIZER CHIEFS STAR MFUNDO VILAKAZI FLAUNTS EXPENSIVE VW GOLF

Despite being one of the most followed, he has managed to keep his private life under wraps, leaving many to guess.

He took a series of photos on Instagram and shared some motivation. He captioned the post, “Before you get one win, you gotta take a thousand losses.”

However, one of his photos posing next to a VW Golf R stole the attention of many. Since it was posted on the internet, the photo has gained thousands of comments and reactions.

Many have been trying to connect the dots, if it’s his car or not. The VW Golf R has a base price tag of R800 000. However, prices tend to differ depending on trims and extras.

However, against the trends, Mfundo Vilakazi has yet to confirm if it’s his car. After all, this is not the first time he has made headlines about cars.

Earlier this year, he made headlines when he reportedly posted a picture of his black VW Golf in a now-deleted post.

Mfundo Vilakazi joins a host of Kaizer Chiefs stars who have made headlines with their rumoured cars. Last year, Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maartmade headlines when he was spotted with his Golf GTI.

Over the years, footballers have capped their glitz and glamour lives with some of the world’s finest things, from designer clothes to cars.

No doubt South Africa hasn’t been spared from the global norm. Several PSL players have made headlines with their flashiest cars in recent years, including Andile Mpisane.

Against the now-viral photo, Mfundo Vilakazi’s career was implicated in the mix, with many trying to connect the dots about his wages. Little is known about his wages at the Soweto giants.

CAREER

Mfundo Vilakazi reportedly started his youth career with Zola Seven Stars under Coach Skhumbuzo, affectionately known as Zola 7.

However, little is known about whether the star played for another youth team before settling at Kaizer Chiefs Youth Academy. Mfundo Vilakazi had his shot to fame in 2023; the rest was history.

After being promoted from the Kaizer Chiefs reserve team, Mfundo made his professional debut in February 2024.

In March, he made his second first-team appearance in a Premier Soccer League tie, the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates.
