US President Donald Trump has revoked security clearances for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, and other political rivals.
This action marks a significant escalation in the growing political tensions as Trump continues to target those he views as adversaries. Notably, former President Biden and his entire family have had their clearances revoked. This broad move highlights the ongoing political discord and the increasing divide between Trump and his perceived opponents, as reported by BBC.
Trump gets back at Biden
“I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information,” Trump said on Friday.
He ordered department and agency leaders to “revoke unescorted access to secure United States government facilities for these individuals.”
“This action includes, but is not limited to, receipt of classified briefings, such as the President’s Daily Brief, and access to classified information held by any member of the intelligence community by virtue of the named individuals’ previous tenure in the Congress,” the order stated.
Trump said that Biden could not be trusted with sensitive information due to his ‘condition’.
“The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information,” Trump said on Truth Social. “I will always protect our National Security — JOE, YOU’RE FIRED.”
