Mzansi continues to reap from the legacy of the late veteran actress and filmmaker, Connie Chiume as she will grace the screens once more with her role on Netflix’s new comedy film, Meet the Khumalos.
The beloved actress who passed away on the 6th of August 2024, after a short illness will make a posthumous appearance on a comedy film set to premiere on the 11th of April.
Her star keeps shining as this will not be her first ‘farewell’ appearance, Connie also appeared on Netflix’s Blood Legacy after she passed on. Before her untimely death, she was renowned for her iconic roles on Gomora, Black Panther, Black is King,and Zone 14among others.
This time, she stars alongside prolific thespians such as Alizwa Skhafungana, Khanyi Mbau, Bonga Dlamini, Ayanda Borotho, Jesse Suntele, Siyabonga Shibe, Nandipha Khubone and many others, in a film produced and directed by Jayan Moodley.
Meet the Khumalosfollows the story of Grace Khumalo, whose perfect world is disrupted when her high school arch-rival Bongi Sithole moves next door. Both mothers are horrified to discover their children are secretly dating and they join forces to break up the young lovers.
