The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has revealed the SRD grant payment dates for March.

These will be the final payments from the 2024/2025 financial year. According to the dates, beneficiaries can expect to have their payments processed way before March ends. Here are the confirmed dates for this month.

SASSA SRD GRANT PAYMENT DATES FOR MARCH

SASSA SRD grant beneficiaries saw their payments being processed right at the end of the month of February. This meant most of them only got the money in their bank accounts in March.

However, this month they might get paid the same month their payments are processed. This is because SASSA plans to process all payments three days before March ends.

According to the agency’s poster for scheduled payment dates for SRD grants, recipients’ grants will be processed over a period of three days. The dates for these payments are 26 – 28 March 2025.

“Payments (for clients who are approved for the month of March 2025) will be processed from 26 – 28 March 2025,” the poster read.

PAYMENT DATES FOR MARCH WILL BE EARLY

Considering that all payments will be processed three days before the end of March, beneficiaries should expect early pay. SRD grant recipients are urged to find out the exact date they will be paid. This information is available on the SASSA SRD website.

“Clients are encouraged to view the status on the SRD website for the exact date that payment will reflect into their bank accounts,” said SASSA.

WHAT DID THE BUDGET SPEECH 2025 SAY WILL HAPPEN TO THE SRD GRANT?

Meanwhile, the recent Budget Speech 2025 shed light on what will happen to the SRD grant. According to Minister of Finance, Enoch Godongwana, SRD grants have been extended for another year.

This will come into effect from 1 April 2025 until 31 March 2026 after the SRD grant payments for March this year. The amount to be paid to beneficiaries will remain at R370.

Over R35 billion has been allocated for the SRD grant for this period. President Cyril Ramaphosa had previously stated during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) government’s plans for the SRD grant. The plan is to use the grant as a basis to introduce an income for unemployed South Africans.
