It doesn’t cost a fortune to advertise your business on Mac G’s Podcast and Chill, but it can measure how serious you are about reaching a massive audience!
Recently, a content creator revealed the advertising fees charged by the wildly popular podcast, which has over 1 million YouTube subscribers, making it one of Africa’s biggest shows. Posing as a potential businessman, the creator inquired about their rates and shared the findings in a video that quickly went viral on Twitter.
According to the video, an Ad Read—where the hosts mention your business on the podcast—costs R80,000. However, if you want to personally promote your business on the show, you’ll need to pay R150,000. For those who want the Podcast and Chill team to visit their store for an on-site promotion, the price jumps to R250,000.
The revelation has sparked plenty of positive reactions online. Many people applauded the fees as fair, given the show’s vast following and influence.
“That’s a fair price to pay because they have a huge following and a powerful support system. The question you should ask yourself is: can your business handle the high demand after the episode airs? You’ll get calls, and things will get busy. So, make sure you’re prepared for the rush,” one Twitter user commented.
Another user added, “Those numbers are reasonable. That podcast is literally the biggest in Africa and ranks in the top 10 globally in terms of open streams.”
Now it makes sense why Sol Phenduka and MacG speny over 10minutes on a sunshine praise of Lekau Sehoana and his DRIP.
It is an all paid for content, but it looks like a genuine conversation.
