The countdown to this year’s Cape Town International Jazz Festival has officially begun, and with just a month away until the official kickoff of the event, the lineup has officially been revealed.

Since its inception, the event has always been one that is eagerly anticipated by local and international music lovers – it is here where artists from all walks of life come together in celebration of the only language that truly speaks to their souls – music.

The festival is set to take place at the renowned Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in the foreshore area of the city’s CBD from the 25th to the 26th of April.

It is here that attendees will discover exactly why the event is referred to as “Africa’s grandest gathering,” as it will feature a large list of star-studded artists all eager to take you on a musical escape.

The organisers recently shared a list of some of those who will be performing, with a lineup including artists like Lira, Black Coffee, Thandiswa Mazwai, as well as the American singer Ari Lennox.

In a statement, the organisers provided a sneak preview of what to expect from our local artists, adding:

“Thandiswa Mazwai embodies the soul of a nation. Seamlessly weaving Xhosa heritage with jazz, soul, and Afro-futurism, her performances are nothing short of transformative—charged with emotion, storytelling, and an undeniable stage presence. Expect a performance that is both deeply personal and universally resonant.”

Meanwhile, Lira is described as a true icon of Afro-Soul and Jazz.

“She crafts performances that are both intimate and transcendent. Her music carries wisdom, passion, and a timeless elegance—an experience that stays with you long after the final note.”

Other artists who form part of the weekend’s line-up also include Kyle Shepherd Trio, Benjamin Jeptha ft. Kujenga, Linda Sikhakhane, Nomfundo Xaluva, Don Vino Prins, Jonathan Rubain, and many more.
