Rapper Emtee expresses his unhappiness with his current record label, Empire Africaafter alleging that they are stealing from him.

Over the years, some musicians have come out to share their experiences of being exploited by their respective record labels. According to news publication, TimesLive, Emtee was one of the few people to leave the record label, Ambitouz Entertainment after claiming that he was not being paid what was due to him.

The news publication also reported that in 2021, the rapper went on Podcast and Chill with MacG where he stated the reasons for leaving his label.

During the interview with MacG and his co-hosts Sol Pheduka and Ghost Lady, he said, “I always try my best to not step out of character. So, even when I was feeling mad and like ‘How can they do this to me?, at the same time I would tell myself to walk away and close that chapter. Do not talk to people who will gas me up, just keep it moving. I have two beautiful kids to focus on and a family.”

After leaving the record label responsible for most of his hit singles in his career, he signed with Empire Africa, which according to entertainment publication, ZiMoja, has also given him a hard time.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) he expressed his frustrations, adding that, he was signed to the label for a year now and that he can’t remember one thing they have down for him.

He said, “I have been signed to Empire for approximately 365 days now. I can’t remember one thing that has been done for me by them. I organise my shows,” he said. Emtee also revealed that certain people have been stealing from him. People steal from me so that they laugh and say “he lost it all” Nah bi**h, you stole from me, the night before meeting the CEO which was 365 days ago, my supporters, family, friends and colleagues been have been asking me about this album but I don’t have answers.”
