Orlando Pirates winger Monnapule Saleng is reportedly planning to submit a transfer request at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old has been sidelined by the Buccaneers, having last played in December of last year. He returned to action this past weekend for Bafana Bafana, where he delivered an impressive performance. According to Mgosi Squad, Saleng is unhappy with his situation at Pirates and could leave the club in the coming months.
Saleng to hand over transfer request, will Pirates accept?
“He’s not happy with how he has been treated by Pirates. He feels he deserves better, especially for what he has done for the club. Even this season, he was doing well before this whole thing started. He just wants a fair deal from Pirates, that’s all,” said the source.
With Saleng unhappy at Pirates, rivals like Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are no doubt monitoring his situation. Masandawana have not really shown in the speedy winger, but Amakhosi might be licking their lips at the idea of having a Pirates player at their ranks
If Saleng submit a transfer request at the end of the season, Chiefs could acquire his services, thus adding to their deadly attack. Amakhosi could greatly benefit from having a player like Saleng on their roster, given his skills and competitive nature.
This week, Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi refused to answer questions surrounding the player. It remains to be seen if indeed Saleng will submit his transfer request by the end of the season.
Do you think the whole Monnapule Saleng’s saga can be resolved?
