Why Harrison Ford didn’t present at the Oscars?
Entertainment Weekly was the first to report the news of Harrison Ford missing the Oscars because of being diagnosed with shingles.
Despite his shingles diagnosis, Ford is resting, and his condition is reportedly stable. It was necessary to cancel his appearance at the Oscars which is what the actor did on Saturday morning.
What is Shingles?
According to Mayo Clinic, Shingles is a viral infection that causes painful rashes and can be triggered by the same virus that causes chickenpox. While it is not usually life-threatening, it can cause significant discomfort and require rest.
Before the diagnosis, the actor has appeared at another event. He had an unforgettable moment which made fans excited to see him at the Oscars.
Harrison Ford’s recent appearance
The Indiana Jones actor, who was de-aged in the film’s video game, has recently made an appearance in the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Harrison Ford had a memorable moment when his Shrinking costar Jessica Williams was giving a speech.
The camera was focused on Williams who sat next to Harrison Ford at their table. Instead of focusing on Williams, fans focused on how Ford appeared in the background while he was eating.
“I told him to turn away! Don’t look!” Williams said to the crowd as they laughed at the wholesome and funny moment.
What was Ford nominated for at the SAG Awards?
Ford attended the SAG Awards as a nominee for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series. He was nominated for his role in Shrinking, but he ultimately lost to Only Murders in the Building’s Martin Short.
Shrinking was also nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. The show, however, lost to Only Murders in the Building.
While Ford was missed at the Oscars, there was a long list of presenters who fans loved seeing.
