Marise Pollard – the wife of Springbok Handre Pollard – is celebrating her return to South Africa amid his signingfrom Leicester Tigers to the Bulls.
The famous flyhalf has officially signed a two-year contract with his former club.
Handre has previously played abroad for the NTT Docomo Red Hurricanes in Japan and Montpellier in France.
MARISE POLLARDS CELEBRATES SA RETURN
Like many South Africans, Handre and Marise Pollard are celebrating their return to South Africa after many years abroad.
The couple – who are parents to ten-month-old toddler Hunter – both liked an Instagram post by the Bulls announcing Handre’s official return.
“He’s coming home! Pollard is back where he belongs”, read the exciting post.
On her Instagram Stories, Marise reposted the celebratory message from fellow Bulls WAG, Aletia Goosen, the wife of player Johan Goosen. It read: “Can’t wait to be reunited. Nou in ons eie taal, in ons eie land [Now in our own language in our own country].

Meanwhile, Handre Pollard revealed that he was excited to return to the club where he made his rugby debut.
He shared in a statement: “After a lot of thought, the opportunity to go home to South Africa after six years in Europe and to be able to return to the club where I began my career was one I felt was right for me and my family to take.”
HOW MUCH WILL HANDRE EARN AT THE BULLS?
In 2022, Handre Pollard joined the English clubLeicester Tigers under a R14 million a year contract. This secured his spot as one of SA’s highest-paid rugby players.
But will he take a pay cut or earn the same at the Bulls?
According to Planet Rugby, the veteran player is likely to earn “two or three times more” than the average Springbok [around R7million a year]. He is expected to receive the same salary bracket as his club abroad and in the league of big-name Boks like Eben Etzebeth, Cheslin Kolbe, and Siya Kolisi.
Handre’s earnings will not come from the club but from the Player of National Interest (PONI) contracts that SA Rugby pays.
