Orbit College claimed an impressive 3-0 win over Milford FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Saturday at Olympia Park Stadium to end the KZN-based side’s unbeaten run.
Milford have had a promising start to the 2024/25 season after marginally surviving relegation in the previous NFD campaign. In the new season so far, Milford won four matches, drew two and lost one in seven games in the league.
Elsewhere, JDR Stars handed Black Leopards a 3-1 defeat at Soshanguve Giant Stadium on Saturday. The Hammer Boys scored goals through Prince Nxumalo, Banele Hlophe, and Tshepo Mokhabi.
The victory over Black Leopards left Stars sitting sixth on the log standings in the second-tier with 13 points. So far, the Pretoria-based side has won four league games, drew one and lost on two occasions.
Meanwhile, Venda FC beat Motsepe Foundation newcomers Kruger United 1-0 at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Venda FC won their first game since the start of the season after losing five games and drawing one prior to beating Kruger.
KRUGER UNITED AND VENDA FC HAVE ONLY MANAGED TO WIN ONE GAME EACH
Like Venda FC, United also had a bad start in the league. The Mpumalanga-based side won one game, drew two, and lost four. Kruger United is currently occupying the 14th spot with five points after seven matches played.
In addition, Hungry Lions FC shared the spoils with Pretoria Callies after playing to a goalless draw at Suzuki Stadium, Northern Cape.
