Former attorney and co-owner of Tammy Taylor Nails South Africa Peet Viljoen opened up about being bullied on an episode of Laataand by Rian on Tuesday 15 October.
PEET VILJOEN ON BEING BULLIED
Real Housewives of Pretoria (RHOPTA)star Peet Viljoen appeared as a guest on Rian van Heerden talk show Laataand by Rian on Tuesday 15 October. In Laataand by Rian, Rian talks to a newsmaker in his restaurant in Pretoria every week.
The second guest is always a surprise for the first guest, and it’s usually someone they would never have expected. This week Peet opened up about being bullied while in university.
Rian asked Peet if his difficult upbringing had taught him something about money and the possibility that it could run out. Peet revealed that he paid his own university fees.
“Going to res and being bullied, made me who I am today. I had to pay my own university fees. I had a student loan and sold insurance policies. That’s the problem with people who want to make money – they don’t want to put in the time,” he said.
“Money is worth nothing. Money is an idea. That Rolex watch reminds me that I get up when other people are sleeping; that I keep working when people give up and that I push through when the going gets tough. Money comes and goes, but principles and discipline do not,” he continued.
PEET VILJOEN MAKING HEADLINES
Peet recently made headlines after suing the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for R500 million. This followed the NPA’s decision in April this year to set aside the fraud case against Peet and his five co-accused.
Rian asked Peet if he’s sure his case would not continue, to which he replied: “I challenge the NPA to come for me again. I am doing it here tonight, on the front page of the Rapport, and I am doing it by way of a summons. They still haven’t replied to my notice.”
Peet was struck off the role as attorney because of the fraud case, but he insists he has always been an attorney: “You can’t lose the title. For 15 years, I could not reapply because of the criminal charges against me. It took three lawyers just to explain to me what I was charged with.”
Rian surprised Peet with the millionaire Albert van Wyk as his second guest. Albert is the author of Millionaire at 22, an industrial engineer, property developer and presenter of the TV show Maak my ’n miljoenêr. Next week South African radio personality, author, MC and writer Amore Bekker will be joining Rian.
Peet is married to reality star and businesswoman Melany “Mel” Viljoen and they co-own Tammy Taylor Nails South Africa.
