UNAUTHORISED DEDUCTIONS PLAGUE SASSA GRANT BENEFICIARIES

The number of pensioners who are plagued by unauthorised deductions from their SASSA grants is growing, reported Kathorus Mail.

Many pensioners reportedly complain that certain amounts are deducted from their grants every month. However, it is unclear what these deductions from their bank accounts are for.

HOW TO STOP UNAUTHORISED DEDUCTIONS FROM YOUR SASSA GRANT?

Experts have revealed the steps grant beneficiaries can take to put an end to these unwanted deductions. Find out what to do below.

IDENTIFY SOURCE

You should first identify the source of the deductions if you don’t know who is making them. Do this by calling SASSA on 0800 601 011 or going to a SASSA office near you.

You can also stop unwanted deductions from your SASSA grant by texting to 34548. Include your full names, surname, ID number and the Financial Service Provider (FSP) responsible for the unauthorised deductions in the SMS.

Also, state the duration and the reason for disputing the deduction, example not authorising the deduction or not having any contract with the company.

UPDATE BANKING DETAILS

You can also visit a SASSA office to update your banking details.

BEWARE OF SCAMS

Scammers are also those you should be aware of. Never share your account pin or sign documents you have not read to avoid paying for loans you didn’t apply for.
