South African actress Khanyi Mbau and her Zimbabwean boyfriend, Kudzai Mushonga, have called it quits once again—but is this the end?
Given their history of breaking up and reuniting, many are wondering if this is just another chapter in their tumultuous love story.
A History of Breakups and Reconciliation
Khanyi and Kudzai have had an on-and-off relationship, marked by multiple breakups over the years.
In August 2021, their romance made headlines when Khanyi abruptly left Dubaiwithout informing Kudzai and returned to South Africa. A distressed Kudzai took to social media, claiming she was missing and pleading for her return. He later apologized, reaffirming his love for her, and they eventually reconciled.
Their relationship hit another rough patch in May 2023 when they deleted each other’s pictures from social media, sparking breakup rumours. However, by July 2023, they had rekindled their romance once again.
Khanyi Mbau Hints at Betrayal
Confirming the breakup on Instagram, Khanyi did not disclose the exact reason but hinted that Kudzai had wronged her. She wrote:
“He was a good guy, but he did some bad things. He tried everything he could to make it up to me. I did most of my grieving while we were together. I finally got the courage to leave. And of course, I wish him the best.”
She captioned the post:
“Give everything time… I am grateful for the experience.”
A Love Story Marked by Luxury
The couple first met in 2016 at a campaign meeting but only started dating in 2019. They went public with their relationship in February 2021 and lived a lavish life in Dubai. Their love seemed deep, with Khanyi tattooing Kudzai’s name on her thigh and Kudzai inking hers on his chest.
Khanyi’s breakup announcement came as a surprise, as the couple always appeared deeply in love. Social media users shared mixed reactions, with many wondering whether this split is truly final.
Do you think Khanyi Mbau is leaving Kudzai Mushonga for good this time?
