Orlando Pirates are eyeing youngster Jaedin Rhodes.

Equipped with speed and flair, the 21-year-old sensation has an astonishing 72 league appearances for Cape Town City, playing his first top-flight game in 2021, aged 18.

A year later, he picked up the Young Player of the Year award, cementing his status as one of South Africa’s most promising prospects.

According to reports, Orlando Pirates will try land him in the offseason.

Rumours confirmed

“He (Rhodes) has been one of their (Pirates’) targets for some time now,” SoccerLadumaconfirmed.

“They have been monitoring him though there hasn’t been much happening. They were targeting him for the January transfer window period.

“Now that it didn’t happen they have more time to work on it and will see what happens in the next window. But they are interested in him. That I can tell you.”

Another SLsource said, “obviously, they (Pirates) will either loan some out or release some as well. But that’s the time they need to work on their squad and since it didn’t happen in January then they will work on it in the off season. Rhodes is one player on that list already.“

Saleng latest

There are question marks surrounding Monnapule Saleng’s availability for Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby, albeit being fit and ready to go:

“He is a Pirates player and like any player who is fit and ready he will always be available for selection. He will be back with the team soon to continue from where he left off with his contribution.”

Will Rhodes be good for Orlando Pirates?
