Kaizer Chiefscould lose coach Nasreddine Nabi at the end of the season according to the latest reports.
Chiefs worked tirelessly to finally bring Nabi to the club, after a previous attempt failed to materialise.
The appointment of Nabi was supposed to be the beginning of a new era for the club. The Tunisian mentor is believed to be the man to lead Chiefs back into their glory days era. The fact the club had two separate negotiations for him and ended up going back to pay compensation says a lot. He was first primed to join the club at the beginning of last season before negotiations hit a snag.
Chiefs finally got their man
Those negotiations reportedly fell through after Chiefs refused to let him bring in all of staff members he wanted. It is thought the Nabi was asked to keep former coach Arthur Zwane as one of his assistants. A year later Amakhosi’s top brass traveled to Morocco to negotiate with his former side AS FAR. After agreeing to pay his compensation, the coach agreed to finally join the club.
Now having not even had a full season at Chiefs yet, Nabi has twice been linked with an exit. The first rumours linked him to a move to be Raja Casablanca. The latest report from KickOff.com is that he has been shortlisted for the Tunisian National team job!
Nabi now shortlisted for Tunisia national team job
“A new report now claims that Kaizer Chiefs boss Nasreddine Nabi is among the candidates for the managerial role at a top African nation. According to reports in Tunisia, Nabi is being considered for the men’s national team job. But despite having been in Naturena for just over six months, Tunisia are said to be weighing up the possibility of hiring Nabi. According to WinWin.com, the Tunisian Football Federation has allocated an estimated salary of $9,000 (R166 000) per month for their next national team manager. Nabi has been included in that shortlist of alternative candidates, alongside free agent Sami Trabelsi, Stade Tunisien mentor Maher Kanzari, and Al-Khor SC boss Mehdi Nafti.” Wrote the publication.
